ADDITIONAL DRIVER ED. CLASSES

Only open to Wake County Residents or students enrolled in Wake County schools.

 

             

Students must be Wake County residents or attend a Wake County School. They must be between 14 years 6 months and 18 years old on the day that the class starts. Current enrollment in public, private or home school is required.  Our classes are for students who have never before taken a North Carolina Driver Education class and are at no cost to the student.

When attending a full day class, students will need to bring a bag lunch, drink and snack.  All students will need to bring a copy of their birth certificate on the first day and pen/pencil and paper every day.  We will advise you if there are other requirements in a specific class.

·        Classes at the public high schools are open to all age-eligible, public, private and home school students in Wake County, as long as you have never taken Driver Education before and do not have a NC Learner’s Permit.   If you cannot find a private or home school class that meets your needs, you may register for a class at a public high school.

Additional Classes

Saturday classes - held during the school year only.   Schedule will be available after school starts.

Home School – We hold classes specifically for Home School students during the school year.  See below for Fall dates.

Private & Charter School – we hold class at some school locations.  Check below to see if your school is listed.

 Private School, Home School or Charter School students may sign up for any class for which you are eligible and available.  See below for additional information and check the public school schedule when it becomes available. 

 

SATURDAY AND SCHOOL BREAK CLASS

We hope to have Saturday sessions finalized by mid-September.  Please check back weekly or send an email to the address below.  We will email you when we finalize the schedule.

We give priority to Home School students for these classes.  We MAY open up a Home School class to other students if room allows.

Private Christian students may register for any public high school class as long as you meet the eligibility requirements are you can attend every class at the times listed.  The schedule for Winter Break classes at private Christian Schools is not yet available.

Contact Mr. Elston for information regarding Behind The Wheel instruction if you did your classroom at a Private Christian School location or at Ravenscroft (other than North Raleigh Christian or Wake Christian – see below) Generally you need to allow 6 weeks after completion of class before we call you to schedule your driving.
