Lorraine Jordan is a North Carolina entrepreneur, educator, and community leader whose life is defined by purpose, discipline, service, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Born in Greenville, North Carolina, and raised in Vanceboro, and has resighted in Ganer since 1984. Lorraine’s roots run deep in the state she has spent her life serving. She graduated from West Craven High School, where she played in the concert band, and later graduated from East Carolina University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Traffic Safety in the field of Driver Education with a minor in Criminology.

Founded in 1991, after working as a public school driver education teacher, Lorraine founded Jordan Driving School, Inc. Her vision was clear: to preserve the integrity, professionalism, and quality of driver education instruction. What began as a mission-driven school grew into one of the largest and most respected driving schools in North Carolina, serving generations of students and families across Wake County.

Today, Jordan Driving School is the exclusive contracted provider of driver education for the Wake County Public School System. As one of the North Carolina’s largest of most trusted driving schools, we offer quality safety instruction to eligible public private, charter and home school student ages 14 ½ to 18 years old.

Lorraine’s mission goes beyond helping students learn to drive. Jordan Driving School prepares young drivers for the responsibility of driving. Though expert instruction, structured training, and strong safety focus, Jordan Driving School supplies students with the knowledge judgment, confidence for the road ahead.

Through Jordan Driving School, Lorraine has built more than a business. She helped create a trusted driver education program rooted in safety, responsibility, and student success. Her leadership has supported public, private, charter, and licensed home school students as they take one of life’s most important steps: learning to drive with confidence and care.

Lorraine’s impact extends far beyond driver education. She also owns Lorraine’s Coffee House & Music in Garner, a beloved community gathering place known for fellowship, live music, and local connection. Throughout her career, Lorraine has become known as a builder of opportunity for students, families, small businesses, and the community she loves.

Her accomplishments have earned recognition across business, education, and community. Lorraine was recently awarded the 2026 Garner Woman of the Year award by Garner Chamber of Commerce. She has been awarded the “key” to the city in both the Town of Vanceboro, NC & Garner, NC. She won second place in the state of North Carolina when she served as a coach of select Wake County students for the NCDTSEA Safe Driving Contest. She served as President of the North Carolina Driver Traffic Safety Education Association for two terms. Lorraine received the Gene Causby Award in recognition of Outstanding work with governor and legislation on behalf of NC Driver Education. She received the ADTSEA Award in recognition of support to America Driver Education.

Whether in the classroom, behind the wheel, on stage, or in the community, Lorraine Jordan leads with heart, work ethic, and vision. Her legacy is one of service, determination, and lasting impact, a North Carolina story built on faith, family, tradition, and helping others move forward.
